- Mesmerising bamboo-like fountains, known as ‘The Tower of Life,’ are a magical part of futurist retail development SKP Chengdu. These towering water beacon sculptures are crafted from 5,328 nozzles, 2,700 sprays, 8,028 spotlights, and 5,300 water pumps, creating their own dramatic micro-climate and changeable light settings.
- Produced by The Fountain Workshop in collaboration with SKP Chengdu project leads Sybarite, and James Corner Field Operations and Spiers Major.
- SKP Chengdu opened in Dec 2022 and is designed as a landmark for fashion, tech, and art, aiming to set a new milestone for the city. The project was realised over a three-year period.
- The complex is a Transit Oriented Development (TOD), focusing on creating dense, walkable, and mixed-use spaces near transits. This design supports vibrant, sustainable, and equitable communities.
- The park within SKP Chengdu features 33 crafted landscapes and scenic spots in nature. The retail journey within the complex is designed to be ever-changing, offering unique experiences each time one visits.
- SKP Chengdu is a low-carbon city development and an innovative smart city. It incorporates green ecology and high-end commerce, covering an area of 260,000 m2 and 190 Acres, with 99% of its buildings below ground.
- The complex offers a wide array of comprehensive cuisines, lifestyle options, art, and culture, featuring well over 1,300 first-tier global brands. It aims to set a new benchmark as the largest sunken and sustainable luxury retail masterplan.
