Figure AI have unveiled Figure 02, a humanoid robot featuring upgrades in hardware and software compared to the earlier model, Figure 01.
From Superinnovators 06/08/24
The company say Figure 02’s key technical improvements include AI, computer vision, batteries, electronics, sensors, and actuators, delivering enhanced performance.
It features a speech-to-speech system for human interaction, an AI-driven vision system with six cameras, and advanced hands with 16 degrees of freedom.
Figure 02 also has a 2.25 KWh battery, providing over 50% more energy than the previous model.
Compared to Figure 01 (at least in its most recent form), Figure 02 is heavier at 70 kg versus 60 kg, but both share the same height of 5’6″, payload capacity of 20 kg, runtime of five hours and top speed of 1.2 meters per second.
The new model also includes three times the computational power of Figure 01, has an integrated design with cabling within its limbs for durability and sports a matte grey finish instead of a metallic mirror finish.
According to the company, while the price and launch date remain undisclosed, Figure 02 is touted as the first commercially viable autonomous humanoid robot.
