US-based Radiant, the team building a portable 1.2-megawatt gas-cooled microreactor named Kaleidos, have successfully tested its helium cooling system.
The startup say Kaleidos will replace diesel generators, with all components of the microreactor’s compact design packaged in a single shipping container.
Its portability makes it suitable for rapid deployment to remote locations or disaster relief, with fueled testing set to begin in 2026.
