The Dual Doggie Leash, made by the US company Wigzi, is designed to walk two dogs at once without tangling the leads.
From Superinnovators 09/08/24
It features 360-degree automatically untangling technology, allowing each dog to walk independently up to 10 feet in any direction.
Wigzi say the reflective leads enhance safety during night walks by shining brightly when approached by a car, making the leash suitable for evening outings.
The leash is colour-coded, with orange and green leads matching the respective stop buttons, ensuring precise control over each dog.
According to the company, this product is as lightweight as a normal retractable leash and more affordable than buying two separate leashes.
It comes in three versions: standard, gel handle, and LED, with prices ranging from $39.99 (£31.44) to $49.99 (£39.32).
The LED version includes a rechargeable light, increasing visibility during nighttime use, while all versions feature a soft-touch or gel handle for comfort.
This leash aims to provide convenience for multi-dog households, which have been growing in the US over the past two decades in tandem with pet ownership.
Today, 65.1 million households own at least one dog in the US, with an average of 1.46 dogs per dog-owning household.
In the UK, an estimated 28% of adults own dogs, representing a population of 10.6 million pet dogs, with 24% of dog owners owning more than one dog.
If dog ownership continues to grow, some creative soul will have to invent a zero-tangle triple dog leash.
