The Ventete aH-1 micro-collapsible helmet, designed in London and made in Switzerland, offers a novel safety solution for cyclists, transforming in 30 seconds.

Aiming to make cycling more convenient, this innovative helmet can be discreetly carried when deflated, as it becomes smaller than a laptop.
In terms of functionality, the aH-1 comprises a series of ribbed pockets that inflate in approximately 30 seconds, resembling the bellows of an accordion.
While it appears to be spring-loaded from the footage, drawing in air of its own accord, a pocket-sized electric pump is also included in the package.
To collapse the helmet, users open the valve and fold it on itself with their hands, pushing out the air, which also takes about 30 seconds.
Crucially, the device has been tested and certified safe, having passed the British and EU cycling safety helmet standard BS EN 1078:2012 + AI:2012.
This certification underscores its reliability and safety for everyday use.
Ventete, the company behind the aH-1 helmet, are a London-based design and innovation firm comprising architects, engineers, and cyclists.
Over ten years, they developed and patented pneumatic safety technology that underpins the helmet, with the help of UK Gov. R&D grant funding of £175k (approx. $221k) in 2020.
Details are scarce, but according to the company, the helmet will soon be available in Europe.
No news on the price yet though.
Interested customers can receive updates by joining Ventete’s mailing list or following them on social media.
The aH-1 joins other inflatable helmets, such as Germany’s Inflabi which is available for pre-order at £129 (approx. $163).
