Super strong magnetic fields leave imprint on nuclear matter

A new study by the STAR collaboration at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory has provided the first direct evidence of powerful magnetic fields’ effects on deconfined nuclear matter, discovered through the separation patterns of differently charged particles after atomic nucleus collisions.
