The Italian Institute of Technology’s Dynamic Legged Systems lab have developed VERO, a quadruped robot equipped with a vacuum cleaner for efficient litter removal.
From Superinnovators 25/07/24
VERO autonomously collects cigarette butts from hard-to-reach terrains using a convolutional neural network for litter detection and a vacuum nozzle on each of its legs.
The researchers say this innovative design enhances litter collection efficiency by allowing the robot to continue moving while performing the task.
