Infinite Machine, a New York-based startup, have opened reservations for a limited 250-unit run of their futuristic e-scooter, the P1.
From Superinnovators 22/07/24
The first reservation window for the P1 opened in October 2023 and saw the initial batch of 1,000 units sold out within ten days.
As with October’s launch, last week’s announcement will see customers pay a $1,000 deposit to bag their P1, with the final price set at $10,000.
According to the startup, the P1 is designed as the ultimate urban exploration vehicle.
It boasts a striking design, combining aluminium and steel construction, and a powerful 6 kW hub motor.
The e-scooter can reach a top speed of 55 mph and has a range of 60 miles.
Its angular, futuristic design is reminiscent of the Tesla Cybertruck, featuring sleek lines and a robust build that stands out in any urban setting.
Key features of the P1 include a removable 72-volt 45aH battery, under seat storage, and a modular system for attaching accessories.
The dashboard features an 8” weatherproof touch display, and the scooter is equipped with front and rear cameras.
Additionally, it supports CarPlay, mobile apps, and has GPS location tracking.
The modular system is one of P1’s standout features, allowing for significant customisation.
Modules in development include a trailer for towing larger loads, an attachable battery-powered speaker system, and side-mounted cases for carrying cargo.
While the modules are not yet available for reservation, Infinite Machine aims to provide both first-party and third-party modules, offering users the ability to adapt their P1 to meet diverse needs.
Infinite Machine also highlight that the P1 offers rapid acceleration, near-silent operation, and turbo boost for increased speeds.
Practicality is another focus, with ample storage options and a built-in helmet lock.
The scooter can be parked in tight city spaces, making it a convenient alternative to traditional vehicles.
For safety, the P1 includes ABS for improved braking, front and rear cameras for collision detection, and a fire-resistant battery.
The e-scooter also features advanced theft prevention, including GPS tracking, an alarm system, and immobilisation features, with future enhancements available through over-the-air updates.
Deliveries for batch 2 are expected in 2025, and orders are currently only available for the United States.
Deliveries from the first batch are expected to ship from Oct 2024.
