DARPA’s Robotic Autonomy in Complex Environments with Resiliency (RACER) program successfully tested autonomous RACER Heavy Platform (RHP) tanks and Fleet Vehicles (RFVs) in the Texas countryside, navigating vegetation cover, trees, bushes, rocks, slopes, obstructed ditches, and creek crossings.

The 12-ton, 20-foot-long, skid-steer tracked vehicles achieved 30 autonomous route following miles and the wheeled off roaders achieved 150 autonomous miles at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour.
